Fibreboard exports fall
China's fibreboard exports fell by 4% in H1 2023 production decreased to 1.009 million tonnes valued at $558 million up 14% from the same period in 2022. Nigeria was the largest H1 2023 market for China's fibreboard exports, but exports to Nigeria fell by 15% to 129,000 tonnes.
China's fibreboard exports to Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the UK, Algeria and Russia grew 35%, 6%, 101%, 69% and 55% respectively compared to the same period in 2022.
The US is not the longest market for Chinese fibreboard exports fell 47% in the first half of 2023. China's fibreboard exports to the US grew 19% in 2022 due to strong demand, with production of 187,392 tonnes.
