Canadian sawmill production and shipment data for June

Statistics Canada (StatCan) released summary data on sawmill production and shipments for June on Tuesday (5 Sep 23).

Lumber production fell 6.6% year-over-year to 3,744,200 cubic metres in June. Sawmill production down 16.8% YoY.

Canadian sawmills shipped 4,169,200 cubic metres of lumber in June. That's up 0.3 per cent from May, but down 8.2 per cent from June 2022.

StatCan notes that these figures are subject to revision and are not seasonally adjusted.
